4th of July Weekend

The 4th of July weekend was such a fun one for us this year. We woke up early on Saturday and went to the parade and then to a bbq at Kristin's parents house. After the bbq my parents got in to town, and Ricky and Stacia happened to be in town as well, so we all had dinner at our house and then went down to the river to watch the fireworks together. It was a blast, and a fun surprise to have Ricky and Stacia show up! Joshua LOVED the fireworks! I was worried it was going to be a disaster because they didn't start until 10 pm so he'd be so tired before they even started and I figured the noise would freak him out. But he was wide awake and loving every second. However, as soon as they were over he crashed hard. I didn't take very many pictures; I'm not sure why, but here are a few.

Also that weekend we took a little drive up to the lake to show my parents. The Palisades lake is probably one of my favorite places we've been here in Idaho. It's SO pretty! We also drove up the canyon (not sure what the name is, but it's between the lake and Jackson) and found an awesome little look out over the Snake and watched some white water rafters. Now my parents and Beau think we need to have a family reunion up here and all go rafting down the Snake. It might take me a little while to warm up to that idea! I think I'd rather watch.




*And of course we had to go to Reed's for some ice cream to finish off an awesome day in the sun!

Handy Man

Can I just say again that I LOVE my handy husband! I showed him this picture the other day because I really liked that shelf so I asked him if he could build it for me....

And here we have it! He's pretty much amazing. You can't see the detail in the picture, but he did a really good job and I love it....Now I have to decorate it. I have some bookends drying in the garage right now. I had to make them because I couldn't find what I wanted anywhere. Next I'm going to find some hat boxes and modge podge them to match. I'll post the finished product.


This is a picture of the picture on the right side of the shelf. Beau's mom made it for him when he was a kid. I think it's so darn cute and I love that the little boy has fuzzy red hair! I'm so excited we have it to pass down.

Yup. We start em early in this family, because according to Beau, his boys don't have a choice but to be riders.

I just started putting Joshua in the big bathtub and he LOVES it!

Mom and Dad's Cabin

While we were down south last weekend we ran up to Kolob to see how my parents cabin was coming along, and so Beau could do a few things around the place to get it ready for the decks to be built. I thought I would post a few pictures because I don't think any of my sisters have been able to go up and see it yet. The first two floors are just about finished being stacked. All that is left is the 3rd floor and the roof. It is going to be Amazing! I can't wait to spend time there as a whole family. The first year it is finished we will have to spend Christmas there!

Our trip home....again

This last weekend Beau had to work down in So. Utah for a couple days, so we decided to go down Friday after work and make a trip out of it. When we came home from my little sisters wedding the first of May I told Beau that I wasn't going back down there for a long time because the trip is getting harder and harder every time with Joshua. So when he told me he had to go down for work this last week, I said I was going to be brave and stay up here alone because I did not want to go again so soon. But, we ended up selling our truck earlier in the week so I would have been left here without a car for 4 days....and I didn't want to do that either. SO... I obviously ended up going. I'm so glad I did, because it was a really fun trip. It happened that we got to see my family who was in town from Texas, Beau's cousin Melinda and her husband Rob, my cousin Reed who just got home from his mission, and of course all of our immediate family. It really was worth the drive! Here are just a couple pictures hanging out with the fam.

Visitors

This last weekend our friends Colby, Andrea and their two kids came to visit from Utah! We had a lot of fun, but the weather was yucky so we didn't get to spend much time outside (which is why anyone from So. Utah would come here in the summer). We did find a long enough break in the rain to run to the Zoo and see a little of the green belt. We also went to the local Russian restaurant/store. It was so funny to see Beau and Colby in complete heaven, speaking Russian with a Russian, eating Russian food, and looking through the store. We're SO glad they made the long drive up here so we could spend time with them!
