Cute Cute Baby

Joshua was being such a character when I got him out of the bath yesterday so I snapped a few pictures.




We also took him to his well-baby checkup yesterday, thus the band-aids. He's a healthy little guy. I don't remember what percentile he was in but he weighs 16 lbs and he's 25 inches tall. I do remember his head was in the 85% though. He's got a big noggin (and these pictures accentuate it!). I think it's cute.
At 4 months Joshua is:
*rolling over from back to front, but only sometimes from front to back
*eating rice at night although he hates it!
*still only eating 4 oz. every 3 hours (and not a minute longer)
*sitting up with some support
*taking 2 really good naps in his crib at the same time everyday (it's about time)
*still sleeping in mom and dads room at night (I can't put him in his bed at night)
*starting to enjoy tummy time and pulls his knees up under him
*sleeping through the night almost every night
I'm so grateful for my little man (and my big man). He is such a good baby! He's so mild tempered and easy going. He loves to laugh and tell stories. It's the best thing in the world to wake up to him babbling on, then when I look over the side of the crib he gives me the BIGGEST smile. I can't imagine our lives without him in it.

Joshua at 4 months

Here are some new pictures of Joshua. He turned 4 months last Friday. I haven't taken him to his 4 month check up yet so I don't have his stats. I'll post them later. He is growing too fast! Today I had one of those moments where I looked at him and I could swear he grow 2 inches over night. He's such a drama king. He has this fake cry that cracks me up! I can't believe how fast he's figuring things out. For example, he is already rolling away from me when I try to put his diaper one. What! He's 4 months old! He's a character. We love him to death and are so grateful for the chance we have to raise him.
We're leaving tomorrow to go back down to southern Utah/Nevada! Beau has to go to Mexico next week for work, so Josh and I are going to stay with my parents. Then Beau will fly from Mexico to Vegas next Thursday and drive back with us that weekend. I'm excited to go home, but not looking forward to the drive. Traveling with a baby is not the most fun ever, especially alone. I can't wait to see everyone though!

8 Quirks About Me
1. I have major OCD. (Beau is telling me what to write) Everything has to be perfectly clean all the time. But only in my house. I don't care if other people's houses are dirty when I'm there. I usually don't even notice. But when I'm home...it's spick and span.
2. I get addicted to things easily (not drugs...more like cookies). I have to be careful what I do because I know that about myself.
3. I LOVE to work out! I have to go to the gym every day or I go nuts and can't stop thinking about going. On days when I have to go after Beau gets home from work rather than at 6 a.m. I feel like I never wake up all day. If I could, I'd go twice a day.
4. I hate toes. They are gross.
5. I have been going gray since I was 17....It stinks!
6. I'm a girl who hates to shop, especially for clothes! Up until a year or two ago, I was not allowed to go on shopping trips with my mom and sisters. They just wouldn't invite me! I think it had something to do with me whining the whole time. I don't know. Although I still do not like shopping, I don't mind wandering the mall. I just usually don't go in the stores unless I have to.
7. I don't like to cook, but I LOVE to bake!
8. I don't like water. You couldn't pay me enough to jump in a river or pond. Especially a pond! Something about water that just sits there, growing who knows what, really scares me.

What to do...

How do I get Joshua to fall asleep in his crib when the whole "let them cry themselves to sleep" thing doesn't work? He is too stubborn for that! Two nights ago he cried from 9:30 to 11. Then at 11, I was so tired of listening to him that I finally went in and bounced him to sleep. He was so worked up that even with me bouncing him, it took a good 20 minutes for him to relax enough to fall asleep in my arms. Right now he is in bed crying because he just woke up from his nap, but he's only been asleep for 40 minutes! He can't wake up yet! He'll just wine at me until it's time for his next nap. Then everything will be off and we will have a rough day (like yesterday).
HELP! How do I get this kid to sleep with out me holding him!?
